The conventional mixing method, also known as standard mixing or sequential mixing, usually involves the addition of all polymers first, percolation mixing in the refiner, and subsequent addition of fillers and liquid components, starting with those that are the most difficult to incorporate and distribute because they require dispersive work.This method has a long mixing cycle time, but works well with older refiners that have low shear rates and average cooling capacity.
